New S/s 2024 Trends and Ideas Seen at Paris Fashion Week

Craftsmanship, sustainability and love for nature are some of the most outstanding aspects that emerged from the last Paris Fashion Week still ongoing disclosing the newest s/s 2024 designers’ collections.

Among others, “The Valentino L’École Collection” by Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli disclosed a new approach to the female body, representative of freedom and emblematic of emancipation.

The designer focused a new attention on the body and nakedness, presenting it as a natural state, rather than a means of provocation.

The designer disclosed a new technique, named Altorilievo (High Relief), that sculpts fabric into apparently seamless three-dimensions, creating naturalistic forms – Baroque foliage, fruit, flowers and animals – worn on the naked body and built around the body, as if the woman became an active participant in its design. Elaborate yet simple, the decoration creates structure, their silhouettes entirely determined by the body – here simultaneously clothed and unclothed.

BalenciagaBalenciaga’s last provocation, and last collection before Demna Gvsalia leaves the brand’s creative direction, played with a mix of elements that span from luxury streetwear to tailormade craftsmanship. While the show’s models were personalities like Mariacarla Boscono, Caty Horyn and linda Loppa, and Isabelle Huppert read literature passages, the show presented a mix of eccentric looks, including a selection of upcycled apparel pieces made from recycled denim.
